Dr. Esther Kur joined Zwicker Schnappauf & Partner Patentanwälte PartG mbB in March 2019.
Esther is admitted before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
Esther’s area of practice is drafting and prosecution of German, European, and international patent applications. She is involved in opposition, infringement, and nullity proceedings of German and European patents and in compiling due diligence and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Esther studied Molecular Medicine with a focus on tumor and stem cell biology at the University of Freiburg. For her PhD in biochemistry, she worked with Prof. Thomas Willnow at the Max-Delbrück Center (MDC), Berlin, where she studied the role of endocytic receptor LRP2 in physiology and pathophysiology. Her Ph.D. was followed by postdoctoral research on neurovascular interactions and blood brain barrier formation with Prof. Chenghua Gu at the Neurobiology Department of Harvard Medical School, Boston.
Esther received scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG). She is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
