Dr. Alena Busche joined the firm of Zwicker Schnappauf & Partner Patentanwälte PartG mbB in 2018, before she worked in France with one of France’s largest IP law firms.
Dr. Busche is admitted before the French Patent Office and the European Patent Office. Alena’s area of practice is drafting and prosecution of French, European, and international patent applications. Furthermore, she is involved in opposition, infringement, and nullity proceedings of French, German and European patents and in compiling validity and freedom-to-operate opinions. Alena works in the three languages of the European Patent Organisation.
Alena studied first chemistry and then biotechnology at the “École Supérieure de Biotéchnologie de Strasbourg” in Strasbourg and completed her studies with a Master thesis in the lab of Prof. Frank McKeon at the Biology Department of the Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. Subsequently, Alena completed her PhD thesis in the group of Prof. Dötsch at the Institute for Biophysical Chemistry at the University of Frankfurt in the field of structural biology and biomolecular NMR. The PhD thesis was accompanied by a research visit at the Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Helsinki.
